Píê-bî Yasè Ye

Píê-bî Yasè Ye (/p˔ɘ/ /bɪ ˈjasè/ [mauve] [census]) is a subtropical Large City located in the Mithle County of the Union of Engineers.

The name Píê-bî Yasè Ye is derived from the Dwarven language, as Píê-bî Yasè Ye was founded by Dheingu, who was culturaly Iron Elvish.

Climate

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Píê-bî Yasè Ye receives an average of 180 cm/y (70 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Píê-bî Yasè Ye covers an area of nearly 283 km² (113 mi²), and an average elevation of 2210 m (7250 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Píê-bî Yasè Ye was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1350, by Dheingu. The establishment of Píê-bî Yasè Ye was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Dheingu electing to pay people to resettle in Píê-bî Yasè Ye.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye was built using the conventions of Iron Elvish durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Píê-bî Yasè Ye is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of spacious packed earth streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city is defended by arcane means. Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Píê-bî Yasè Ye’s streets. A look around Píê-bî Yasè Ye has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s everything together. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Píê-bî Yasè Ye long.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Píê-bî Yasè Ye's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has an Theological Academy which trains clergy in various arcane and theological topics required for their occupations.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large City. Píê-bî Yasè Ye's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a library, which keeps a large collection of books, scrolls, and archives all manner of physical items. While not open to the public, the librarians and scholars employed by the library will assist anyone with their research needs, and wealthy individuals can purchase membership to access the library's materials themselves. In spite of being generally closed to the public, the library has a room with several Aether Linked devices available to the public during business hours.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Píê-bî Yasè Ye's natural decorations nor waterways.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Píê-bî Yasè Ye has a long tradition of martial expertise. This may be a crisply-organized history of skilled native levies, or it may be a natural belligerence in the people that leaves them familiar with bloodshed. While their neighbors and liege doubtless respect their talents, this very aptitude might make them more willing to turn to steel than prudence would advise.

Píê-bî Yasè Ye's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..
